Vintage Shutter Dog Clam design 
Antique Cast Iron Shutter Dogs . Each has a front piece that is 3.75" from foot to the top of the clamshell design. They are designed to be mounted on the exterior of the home and have four attachment points.
Were used to attach shutters to a wall, but could be used for other things.  Very nice vintage condition. cix
